Antequera Spain

Antequera is placed to the north of the city of Malaga, in the principal crossing of ways of Andalusia.

Antequera is the city of the secret courts after the front-door grating of the vestibule, of inaccessible convents, closed churches and particular palaces, in whose interiors guard the richest art heritage, which is known and difficultly it is possible to enter.

EL TORCAL

Antequera has natural places of undoubted interest like they are the Paraje de la Vega, of The Torcal, or the Marsh of "El Chorro".

Of among all of them, stands out The Torcal that it encloses in its limited extension (11,7 Km2.) one of the most impressive samples of landscape cárstico of the whole Europe. The whole set is constituted by limy rocks, which had its origin in the sea bed during the Jurassic period, does approximately 150 million years, giving place to multitude of forms in the rocks and producing really " museum of natural sculptures " named imitative forms, which have deserved its individualized recognition.
